Accessibility
This site is built to WCAG 2.2 Level AA. Below is what that means in practice, and how to reach me if something does not work for you.
- Contrast
- Targets WCAG 2.2 AA. Body text on the default theme measures between 6.8:1 and 18.5:1. Every button fill was checked against its own label color. The ten project accent colors use dark ink rather than white, which measured as low as 1.74:1.
- Color vision
- Five alternative palettes in the theme menu: Blue & Gold (deuteranopia), Cyan & Amber (protanopia), Red & Green (tritanopia), Monochrome (achromatopsia) and High Contrast. Color is never the only way information is conveyed: status is always accompanied by text.
- Motion
- Reduce motion is available in the theme menu and the site also honors your operating system's prefers-reduced-motion setting. Entrance animations are CSS-based, so content is never hidden waiting for JavaScript.
- Text size
- Larger text is available in the theme menu. Layouts use relative units, so browser zoom and your own font-size settings work normally.
- Keyboard
- Every interactive control is reachable by keyboard with a visible focus ring. A skip-to-content link is the first focusable element on each page.
- Structure
- Each page has exactly one h1 and a correct heading order. Decorative graphics are hidden from screen readers; meaningful images carry alt text.
Known limitations
The PDF Tools and Résumé Builder pages are interactive applications and need JavaScript to function. The embedded map on the contact page is provided by Google and I do not control its accessibility; a plain text link to the same location is offered alongside it.
